The scrap tire for export boom began on the west coast of the U S but has quickly spread to the east coast as well. Who are these importers and import brokers who want these American Scrap Tires so bad they are exporting them back to Asia for tire Derived fuel? Supposedly the excess of empty shipping containers and cheap ocean freight from US ports back to Asia specifically China who appears to be the ultimate buyer and user of the scrap tires being exported, even though they appear to be arriving through Viet Nam. so why is Viet Nam the back Door for the Chinese if they are using the scrap for TDF????

EPA rule's about Tire Derived Fuel and the future of Tire Recycling Industry

According to a recent issue of Tire Business http://www.tirebusiness.com

The EPA has until February 21 2011 to issue its final rule covering emissions from industrial boilers and solid waste incinerators.
The Rubber Manufacturers Association as well as The Tire industry Association are concerned about the new MACT requirements.Under the new rule scrap tires would be defined as solid waste, meaning only Tire derived Fuel that was processed before use could be considered as fuel. This alone is enough to set back the Tire Industry and all the efforts it has made in the last twenty years towards resolving the nations scrap Tire disposal problems. This proposed rule would be a reversal of Twenty years of progress that all in the tire industry have workAccording to a recent issue of Tire Business http://www.tirebusiness.com

Used Tires for Sale Poor Econmy increases demand for "Used Tires"

Used Tires for Sale Poor Economy increases demand for "Used Tires"
With nearly 10% of Americans currently unemployed, households are trying to cut spending in every aspect of life. One main area in which costs are being lowered is transportation. Hybrid and electric vehicles have seen record sales in the past few years with gas prices fluctuating wildly and Americans trying to squeeze every mile possible out of a gallon of gas. For those that simply can’t afford a new vehicle, however, an interesting solution has emerged: used tires.

While some time ago the concept was largely unheard of, nowadays there are many companies whose sole business model is selling used tires to the general public. With the explosion of "used tire disposal "laws and "Tire recycling" laws the increase in demand for "used tires" and or a "used tire" have skyrocketed in these bleak economic times
A simple internet search will return a number of different websites offering "Used tires" "used tires wholesale" “used performance tires” and “used tractor tires,” to name a few. Virtually any kind of tire now has a used version available, and there is even “wholesale discount pricing” for those wanting to order used tires in mass quantities. Worldwide export of "quality used tires" is also a booming business
Since they are drastically cheaper than new tires, many are now opting for these pre-owned versions for their automobiles.

Over 300 Million Used Tires are disposed of in the US every year
Not only are they being sold, but over 150 million used tires are also now being reused and burned each year for “tire derived fuels,” or TDF for short.
A great purpose using all the energy inside the tire to manufacture another product in most cases klinker for cement. Many people are arguing for other proposed options for the disposal of these tires, as burning them harms the environment. But the science appears to show the tires burn cleaner and hotter than coal which many industries use in their kilns.
Other recycled uses include doormats, roofing materials, playground equipment, and “crumbs” as an additive for asphalt, which extends the life of the pavement 4-5 years.

The purchase of a quality used tire is always a better alternative for the tire consumer than continuing to drive on their bald tires.
The used tires Usedtires.com offers for sale are available direct to consumer, Used Tire Wholesalers, and used Tires for export
